Summary: “Child marriage has long been practiced in Afghanistan and justified by certain interpretations of Islamic texts and tradition. there is very little data on the problem, but work undertaken by medica mondiale e.V. In order for accurate information to be available in the future there is a need for registering of all marriages, and for exact record keeping by institutions such as hospitals and schools…”—(p. 2).
